More Personal Budgeting

More Personal Budgeting

Honestly, I’m not that happy with the way Wesabe has worked for me. I found it useful to do my expenses for work, and thats about it. I give it all my personal data, and it gives me nothing in return. It doesn’t tell me anything I don’t already know, the tags aren’t flexible enough when it comes to re-arranging, and its going to take too much time for me to organize them in a way that will clearly provide me with useful insight into my own habits. Basically its too much work. It would be a great tool if I were organized enough to use it, but the reason I’m looking for this kind of tool, is that I’m not organized enough!

Like I’ve said in my previous review here, the amount of time between the user loading their data into a system and the moment the system spits out useful insight MUST be as short as possible to get them hooked. If I load several months of spending data into budgeting software, and then i spend a half hour tagging them, you should be able to give me some slick charts, graphs, etc right then and there. Don’t make me work for it, thats what you’re supposed to be doing, thats the value you can be providing to the user.

So, in search of other options…
